Surprising Surrey
Surrey is full of surprises. We have been at the heart of the UK film industry since 1932 for example, and are home to rare heath and downland that is as endangered as the rainforest. Wherever you are in Surrey, there is far more to our county than meets the eye.

Surrey in space
Surrey is pushing the boundaries of space exploration. 72 satellites made here have launched into space, and we have our very own Space Centre, and Space Science Laboratory. Our space sector also plays a key role in the UK's largest regional space cluster, Space South Central. But it's not just space where Surrey is leading the way – we're doing the same in areas such as green technology, gaming, cyber security, and life sciences too.

Surrey - so relaxing
Surrey has so much relaxing countryside to explore. We are officially the most densely wooded county in England, and have more than 2,000 miles of public paths to enjoy it all from. We want to make sure that this natural treasure can be enjoyed for generations to come, with many residents involved in protecting wildlife and habitats, and helping them adapt to climate change.

We are a more diverse county than you might think, with every resident's aspirations and wellbeing at the heart of our planning and decision making.
